Remodels & Home Additions

Whole-home remodels that change how your house lives

Award-winning, large-scope remodels and additions across the greater South Puget Sound. Good homes on great lots, rebuilt for the next few decades.

Done Right at Any Scale

The remodels worth doing are the ones worth planning.

Plenty of contractors will repaint a kitchen. Doyle Construction takes on the projects that change a house: full-home remodels, second-story additions, and structural transformations on homes worth investing in.

Every project starts with pre-construction: scope, engineering, selections, and a complete plan before demolition. On a remodel, where the existing structure holds the surprises, that discipline is what turns a remodel into a transformation.

Whole-house remodels

A complete rework of how your home lives: layout, systems, finishes, and flow, handled as one coordinated project instead of a string of trades.

Major additions

Second stories, primary suites, and expanded living spaces engineered to blend with the original structure, inside and out.

Structural transformations

Removing walls, raising roofs, reworking entries. The Tamoshan project added an entire second story over the garage of a waterfront home.

Aging-in-place conversions

As Certified Aging in Place Specialists, we remodel homes so they work for the next thirty years, not just the next five.

Straight answers

Remodel and addition questions, answered plainly

What kind of remodels does Doyle Construction take on?

Large-scope work: whole-house remodels, major additions, and structural transformations. We're not the right fit for single-room updates or small repairs; projects that size deserve a specialist who does them all day.

How much does a whole-home remodel cost in the Olympia or Tacoma area?

It varies more than new construction because the existing structure sets the terms. What we can promise is a real number before demolition: our pre-construction phase produces a complete scope, budget, and schedule first.

Do you handle permits?

Yes. Most remodels and all additions require permits, and we handle the process with the city or county, including the structural engineering the permit will require.

Can we live in the house during the remodel?

Sometimes, depending on scope. For whole-home projects it's usually faster and cheaper to move out for the heavy phases. We'll tell you honestly what the project will demand before you commit.

Have you won any awards for remodeling?

Yes. Our Westside Olympia Remodel won both Judges' Choice and People's Choice for Best Remodel at the 2024 Olympia Master Builders Tour of Homes.

Thinking about a major remodel?

Tell us about the house, the lot, and what you want it to become. We'll tell you honestly what the project involves.
